Edinburgh Sketches: Rethinking Bach
The Edinburgh Sketches were composed on a misty autumn morning on the gorgeous Bechstein grand piano in the Edinburgh apartment of my friend Jenny. Her apartment is in on the top floors of a Georgian terrace and has beautiful tall windows from which you can see Edinburgh Castle through the trees. "Outlines Through Mist" was inspired by that misty morning view, while "Rethinking Bach" is a reworking of the Prelude in C minor that she had left on the music stand.
